Startup Directory

VC Deal Flow Signal tracks 411 startups across 15 sectors and 6 regions in the current quarter. This directory is the fastest way to browse the full corpus without a search box: pick a sector or a region below and you get a paginated list where every company links to its live signal profile, ranked by GitHub engineering acceleration.

How to use this directory

Browse by sector when you want every tracked company in one category, from data infrastructure to social platforms, ranked so the fastest-accelerating teams surface first. Browse by geography when you care about a specific region: the United States, Europe, Asia-Pacific, the United Kingdom, Canada, or Latin America. Each directory page splits its list into pages of 24, with clear next and previous links, so the full long tail is reachable in bounded steps rather than one endless table.

Data source and methodology

Every ranking is computed from public GitHub activity and refreshes weekly. The primary signal is commit velocity change over a rolling 14-day window, measured against each company's own baseline; we surface contributor influx, repository creation pulse, and language bias drift as supporting primitives. A sustained acceleration has historically preceded fundraise announcements by three to six weeks. No single metric is a buy signal. The full methodology, the six-signal panel, and its empirical tie to fundraise probability are documented on the methodology page, with an SSRN preprint (6606558) and a CC BY 4.0 dataset available for independent verification.

About VC Deal Flow Signal

VC Deal Flow Signal is a free public dataset that treats GitHub engineering acceleration as a leading indicator of startup momentum. It exists for Corp Dev teams, PE operating partners, and emerging managers who want to see momentum before a round is announced rather than after. The dataset tracks roughly four hundred startups whose GitHub organizations are self-published, and it is independent of any incumbent venture platform. Every ranking number links back to a public repository. The data refreshes weekly, the methodology is published openly, and a CC BY 4.0 copy of the panel is free to download.

What you can do here

Use this directory to source new targets, to validate companies already in your pipeline, or to benchmark one team's trajectory against its category. For a deeper view, open any company's profile to see its full commit history and sector ranking, or query the corpus through the public API and the MCP server for Claude and Cursor, documented on the developers page. The dataset is free, refreshed weekly, and licensed CC BY 4.0.
