Agent Infrastructure · Startup idea
LangGraph won the developer mindshare, not the production market. The orchestrator that ships with durable execution and a single readable trace per agent run is the next category leader.
Why now
Every team that put an agent in production hit the same wall: long-running runs crash, retries are non-trivial, the trace is impossible to read. Workflow DevKit, Inngest, Temporal, and Restate are all racing for the durable-execution layer.
The idea you could build today
A TypeScript library that exposes one `step.run` primitive plus a `step.agent.invoke` for tool-calling loops. Crash-safe, retry-safe, single-trace-per-run. Ship it as an SDK on top of Vercel Workflow DevKit or Inngest — don't rebuild the durability layer.

The seed-round pattern hiding in the trendline
Repos that pivot from "prompt framework" to "durable execution for agents" hit the velocity-bump pattern. Watch for renames in commit messages around "step.run" or "checkpoint" semantics.
LangGraph is the developer-experience leader for Python. The market gap is TypeScript-first with durable execution baked in. The build is opinionated, not framework-y.
Use the signal, not just the idea
The repos above re-rank automatically as commit velocity, contributor growth, and new-repo creation move. Want the data feed for this idea wired into your own stack? The MCP server exposes every signal as a tool any agent host can query.
Updated 2026-05-18. The framing is editorial; the “three repos already trying” slot is generated from the live signal panel. Anonymity rule: we name public GitHub orgs, never individual founders or stealth teams.
