How do points work in the Scout Game?

Accepted Answer

Correct calls earn floor(confidence / 10) points: a 99% correct call earns 9 points, a 50% correct call earns 5. Wrong calls deduct floor(confidence / 20), so high-confidence misses hurt more than cautious ones. Three or more consecutive correct calls trigger a streak bonus (+1 per additional correct). Expired predictions (no event in 6 months) award 0 and do not penalise.

What are the rank tiers?

Accepted Answer

Curious (any resolved call), Scout (10 resolved calls at 40% accuracy), Sharp (25 at 55%, paid tier), Elite (50 at 65%, paid), Oracle (100 at 70% — top 1% globally). Ranks are recalculated on every resolution. The first 100 scouts to register receive a permanent Founder Scout badge regardless of accuracy.

Is the Scout Game free?

Free tier: 3 predictions per month, all rank tiers eligible up to Scout. Paid tier (€9.97/mo): 10 predictions per month plus eligibility for Sharp, Elite, and Oracle ranks. Scout Receipts (backwards-looking proof of taste) are free for everyone at /receipts.

How are predictions resolved?

Accepted Answer

Each prediction has a six-month auto-resolution window. The system polls Crunchbase, public press releases, and SEC filings for fundraise events on the predicted GitHub org. If a Series A or larger round closes within the window, the prediction resolves correct. If no event closes within six months, the prediction expires (0 points, no penalty). Manual review handles edge cases (rebrands, acquisitions, debt rounds).
